"Music, Literature and Wine with the US Orchestra"

“Music, Literature and Wine with the US Orchestra” is an online evening of traditional Ukrainian music organized by the Ivan Honchar Museum. This is a new format for the museum, created to bring traditional music closer to its listeners during the forced distance and to support musicians.

The dances of Poltava region, which were played at parties more than 200 years ago, will be performed live in the trio. This music was adopted by the US Orchestra from the recordings of traditional music of the twentieth century — the legendary violinists of the Cherednyk brothers and drummer Roman Dyadyura.

The evening will take place online in the format of live communication with the audience. And to maximize the context of music, the mood and character of the US Orchestra will complement the play by quoting works of Ukrainian classics of literature and collectors and researchers of traditional culture.

US Orchestra — three musicians who play Ukrainian traditional instrumental music, found in folklore expeditions and music archives. The band appeared in 2017, the name of the band “US Orchestra” stands for UkrainskaSilska Orchestra — that's what the Ukrainian bands of immigrants in the United States, who played traditional music in the early twentieth century. Participants of traditional and avant-garde music festivals in Poland, Greece, Slovakia, Lithuania and Germany create their own music and educational projects.
